Key Concepts
Port Calls
A port call represents a vessel's visit to a port, including arrival (ETA) and departure (ETD) times.
Service Orders
Individual service requests within a port call, such as provisioning, bunkering, or repairs.
Vendors
Service providers who fulfill service orders. Each vendor can offer multiple service types.
RFQs
Request for Quotes allow you to solicit competitive bids from multiple vendors.
Playbooks
Reusable templates that automatically create service orders based on predefined workflows.
SLA
Service Level Agreements define deadlines and track compliance for service orders.
User Roles
PortTask uses role-based access control to ensure users only see what they need.
Super Admin
Platform administrators with full system access. Manages organizations, subscriptions, and platform settings.
Admin
Organization administrators who manage their company's settings and users.
Agent
Port agents who handle day-to-day operations including port calls and service orders.
Vendor
External service providers who can view and respond to assigned work.
Platform Navigation
The PortTask interface consists of three main areas:
- Sidebar: Main navigation with links to all features, organized by category.
- Top Bar: Quick search, notifications, and user menu.
- Main Content: The active page content with data tables, forms, and dashboards.
Use Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K on Mac) to open the command palette for quick navigation.
